Expected bearing accuracy is approximately ±3° to ±5° under suitable operating conditions. Useful range is terrain- and line-of-sight-dependent, with up to 10+ miles possible under favorable conditions. The IP54-rated enclosure includes conformally coated electronics and is not designed for submersion.

121.5 MHz is not going away as a homing signal.
Satellite monitoring of stand-alone 121.5 MHz distress beacons ended, but modern 406 MHz ELTs, EPIRBs, and PLBs continue to carry a 121.5 MHz homing signal for the final approach. Guardian gives field teams live directional information once they reach the reported area.
