Overwatch406 receives and decodes 406 MHz beacon bursts and displays received information through the configured Android phone. It does not provide a traditional directional bearing. Reception is line-of-sight and may be affected by terrain, structures, vegetation, and other obstructions.
Direct connection to the beacon
Alerted through SARSAT. Connected directly to the beacon.
SARSAT detects and routes the distress alert. Once deployed, Overwatch406 allows the field team to receive the 406 MHz transmission directly from the beacon sending the signal. The team remains coordinated with the responsible rescue authority without depending on step-by-step direction based only on satellite-system updates.
